Climbing at the Gunks with Allan, Bishop and Erick - 08/10/01

On August 10, 2001, Jannette, the faithful tour guide, showed Erick, Bishop and Allan around the Gunks for their first time. The forecast said rain, but besides a few minor sprinkles when we first arrived,it turned out to be a gorgeous day. We top-roped the series of climbs near the ranger truck in the Trapps:

Dirty Chimney 5.0
Junior 5.9
Laurel 5.7
Clover 5.7
Rhododendron 5.6

Then I led Betty (5.3), for Allan and Bishop's first multipitch outdoor climb experience. The cooler of cold beer in my trunk was a welcome end to our day, then off to Bacchus to pig out and then home.
